  3. If you can't wash dishes right away, fill a small tub (or the sink) with warm soapy water and let them soak until you can get them done.

  4. Favorite cleaning tip -- throw your sink protectors into a light dishwasher load so they get sanitized without you having to scrub them.

  8. Invest in a quality feather duster-even the kids love them. No dusting spray needed.

  9. Make your own carpet powder. Use an old Parmesan cheese container fill with a cup of borax, cup of baking soda and then add either some orange essential oil or nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Sprinkle on carpets, let sit and vacuum. Leaves the house smelling terrific.

  11. My favorite cleaning tip is to clean a little every day and that makes sure you never have a BIG mess!!!

  12. Dry-dust your bathroom counters before you scrub them - it will get rid of the lint and hairs that always seem to stick once the counters are wet.

  13. Maybe just doing a little everyday so that the list isn't insurmountable. Also, I like to use white vinegar and water to spray mist on my wood floors for mopping.

  15. My favorite cleaning tip is to use Magic Erasers. I love them! They really work even though I was hesitant at first. We use them to remove marks on walls, sinks, tubs, door jams, etc. This looks like a great book - would love to own it. Thank you for posting it.

  16. The best way to get my kids to pick up/clean is to make a list, set the timer & we all get as much done as possible in our allotted time.

  18. My favorite cleaning tip is to let the kids "mop" the floor in damp socks. Otherwise known as Kitchen Skating!

  19. Vinegar is a great natural all-purpose cleaner. I use it in the washing machine as fabric softener, too! Gets rid of that hard water scum.

  20. I keep my citrus peels: orange, lemon and lime, in a glass jar with vinegar. After two to three weeks I have a great natural cleaning concentrate. I put a small amount of the concentrate in a spray bottle with distilled water and that's what we clean the table with after meals.
